Surf Projects

Surfboard airbrush work and printed graphics from the 80’s. While going to SJSU I was the buyer and manager of the Santa Cruz Surf Shop  started by Richard Novak and Jay Shuirman. I went to the first Action Sports Retailer show when OP, Stubbies, Sundek and Lightning Bolt were a big brand. We stood outside the 25 booths in the center of the Long Beach Arena and I remember someone saying I wonder if this is going to work. From working in the surf shop and going to school taking graphic design and illustration classes I met many owners of surf brands and got work directly out of school and opened up Maximum Impact Design. My first big client was Bob Hurley when he ran Billabong.
